Revival of my laptop~
Heh... Did 8 flags stop charging $10 for each reformatting of laptop? Conversation when I went to 8 flags in NTU to reformat my laptop (edited conversation - you think i can speak such flawless english on the spot meh? I'm not I*** ok? =P):
Me: Hi.. I'm here to format my laptop
X: What model?
Me: Fujitsu S6120
X: Ok... Leave it here and it should be ready in 2hrs time
Me: Ok, do I have to go and get the receipt and pass to you?
(background info: in the past, when u have to reformat laptop, you have to pay $10 at the cashier in exchange for a receipt; after which, you have to pass that receipt to the guy in charge of formating your laptop)
X: Huh? What receipt?
(My mind flashed immediately: I can save $10!!!)
Me: No no... Nothing.. See you in 2 hrs time (inching my way closer to the exit)
Haha... Is it because the guy is a newbie? Or am I lucky? Or did they change their policy and yet here I am, a fool gloating over my seemingly good-fortune... Hmmm.. Anyway, my laptop is up and running. Spent 2 hours installing back programs, transferring files, setting up everthing etc. Things are running smoothly now. Oh yah, to those that do not know, the latest MSN is 7.5. Wooo...
Went out last sat with Diana, Ivan, Mark, Huang Jie and Rachel to Marche and then chill at Zee10 after that . Ivan initiated the chilling out though he can't drink much. Poor soul. Just like me. We are 2 blokes who cannot drink much. Me esp on hard liqour. Vodka is the worst. Taste 'orrible. Anyway, we had quite a good time, watching soccer (Chelski sucks) and playing dai-dee in Zee10. 3 cheers for fiend ship!! Er.. I mean friendship!!! Haha...
Oh yah!!! IT fair coming up!!!! Though I have no money to buy anything but wanting to buy everything. =( One of my army buddy offered his dual-core PC to me for $1.4k (after trading in my old PC). I'm still thinking about that offer. Anyway, I digress. I think I will be visiting the fair to get a new thumbdrive. My thumbdrive is 64mb and it cost me $70 2 years back at 8 flags! (Come to think of it, they cheated money off me then so it's fair I don't pay that $10 right? Right??) These days, $70 can buy you a 512mb one i think. Shall see how first. Going real broke. =( Hope I can scrape enough money for a convocation trip when I graduate next year. Nervous. Kind of in a self-denial that I am growing old and joining the workforce after 23 years of non-contribution to the economy.
