Revival of my laptop~

Heh... Did 8 flags stop charging $10 for each reformatting of laptop? Conversation when I went to 8 flags in NTU to reformat my laptop (edited conversation - you think i can speak such flawless english on the spot meh? I'm not I*** ok? =P):

Me: Hi.. I'm here to format my laptop
X: What model?
Me: Fujitsu S6120
X: Ok... Leave it here and it should be ready in 2hrs time
Me: Ok, do I have to go and get the receipt and pass to you?
(background info: in the past, when u have to reformat laptop, you have to pay $10 at the cashier in exchange for a receipt; after which, you have to pass that receipt to the guy in charge of formating your laptop)
X: Huh? What receipt?
(My mind flashed immediately: I can save $10!!!)
Me: No no... Nothing.. See you in 2 hrs time (inching my way closer to the exit)

Haha... Is it because the guy is a newbie? Or am I lucky? Or did they change their policy and yet here I am, a fool gloating over my seemingly good-fortune... Hmmm.. Anyway, my laptop is up and running. Spent 2 hours installing back programs, transferring files, setting up everthing etc. Things are running smoothly now. Oh yah, to those that do not know, the latest MSN is 7.5. Wooo...

Went out last sat with Diana, Ivan, Mark, Huang Jie and Rachel to Marche and then chill at Zee10 after that . Ivan initiated the chilling out though he can't drink much. Poor soul. Just like me. We are 2 blokes who cannot drink much. Me esp on hard liqour. Vodka is the worst. Taste 'orrible. Anyway, we had quite a good time, watching soccer (Chelski sucks) and playing dai-dee in Zee10. 3 cheers for fiend ship!! Er.. I mean friendship!!! Haha...

Oh yah!!! IT fair coming up!!!! Though I have no money to buy anything but wanting to buy everything. =( One of my army buddy offered his dual-core PC to me for $1.4k (after trading in my old PC). I'm still thinking about that offer. Anyway, I digress. I think I will be visiting the fair to get a new thumbdrive. My thumbdrive is 64mb and it cost me $70 2 years back at 8 flags! (Come to think of it, they cheated money off me then so it's fair I don't pay that $10 right? Right??) These days, $70 can buy you a 512mb one i think. Shall see how first. Going real broke. =( Hope I can scrape enough money for a convocation trip when I graduate next year. Nervous. Kind of in a self-denial that I am growing old and joining the workforce after 23 years of non-contribution to the economy.

lots of things had happened~

It had been a busy busy few weeks but what's new anyway? Hmm.. Just a quick blog before I go for my much deprived sleep.

Just had a full day of seminar on how to tackle cases cause I joined a business case competition. In the end, I found out that my team wasn't selected for the semi-finals. Sigh.. Are we really that lousy? I really don't think so. But what to do? Just like Man Utd. Are they that lousy? Nah. It's just potential unfulfilled. But that's life. There must be someone who sees themselves as potential being unfulfilled at all times. No one can be a winner all the time. Anyway, congrats to zehan and wendy group (if you 2 see my blog) and kai jun's group (if you see my blog as well) for entering the semis. Good luck! Esp Kaijun, you impressed me with your presentation. You improved a lot since I last see you. HAha.. But don't worry. I'm stagnating.

Hmm.. Just applied for PA this coming december. Can't disclose what 2 companies I had chosen. Heh... Just know that competition is going to be really really fierce. Sigh.. Pray pray.. Applied for a few scholarship too. Hope I can get 1 or/and 2. I really need the money. Poor sia~

Ever attended a class which you hardly learn anything inside? Ever have a tutor that demand you not to talk or use handphone in class? Ever have a tutor that always smoke his way through and never have eye contact with the class when he speaks? Ever have a project that depends on the company that you liase with (ie. size of company has strong correlation with grades)? Ever.. ever.. ever...? ALL of the above, I am experiencing now. Sianz.. This particular modules sucks...

K... Will bitch about more stuff when I am more free. Not like Ivan. He can blog thrice a DAY. He still say he not smart. knn... ZzZzZzZ...

at last!!!

Had been wanting to blog since last Friday but I couldn't seem to find the time. Though I have lots to do now, I guess I can spare a few mins to blog something...

Okie.. I attended my first Bloomberg lesson somewhere in Raffles Place last Friday. It really was an eye-opener for me. I was late by about 30mins for the seminar but the receptionist was kind enough to let me in. I was wearing a long sleeved nike t-shirt and my trusty pair of jeans. I realised that I was quite under-dressed when a guy (who is much bigger size than me. I think he moonlight as a bouncer) in a suit ESCORT me to the training room. I truly believe that if he did not lead the way, I would have gotten lost in the company. There were no partitions at all and with one glance, you can see the other side of the room (which is quite far away). There were computers all over the place. Bloomberg is something that is accessed with 2 monitor screens and it really look like a stock exchange with graphs and numbers and words all over the numerous monitors. My mind was just "Wow". Even their pantry is special. It look like 7-11 where drinks and food are aplenty. Slurrrpp.. But being the kind hearted and shy me, I only took a can of coke and a can of mocha coffee. Anywayz, after the seminar, I tried to find my way back to the MRT station. It was around lunch time and there were SOOO many people around. All wearing suits or biz attire. I felt kind of out of place with a t-shirt on. Haha.. But it's ok. Let me enjoy my last few days of walking around Raffles in t-shirt can??

Hope that one day I can have the same purposeful stride as them. Hope that one day I can work there and let someone else feel uncomfortable wearing a t-shirt upon seeing me. Wahahahaha... In the meantime, I should snap out of my fantasy and read more of my notes. *grumble* So much to read and understand. Sianz... Not to mention the numerous projects. Too busy to change the song on my blog as well...

Hmmm.. My grandma was hospitalized a few days ago. It seems like she had been admitted to an hospital quite regularly recently. =( I hate hospital. The smell in the air, the long lonely corridor, the feeling of illness and even death around the corner just give me the creep. Don't asl me to go to the old changi hospital please. The sight of it tell me something is wrong already. Anyway, my grandma had changed quite a lot in appearance; she had became very thin. =( No longer the chubby grandma just about a year back. Sigh... Felt really sad... There had been a few deaths happening around my peers recently as well. Felt totally helpless....

Tomorrow going to sentosa with Ivan and gang. Hope the sun would be perfect. Perfect as in SCORCHING hot. I wan my sun tan.
